After a period of closure to complete a re-defining of an already exquisite property, Tamarind (formerly Tamarind Cove Hotel) of the Elegant Hotels Group re-opened in 2010. Tamarind is one of the special gems on the island of Barbados and is located on the west coast, referred to with some affection as the Platinum Coast.

Situated in the area of Payne’s Bay in the parish of St. James and located on one of the loveliest beaches on the island, Tamarind is popular as both a recreation destination and a venue for meetings and special events. The hotel can be described as elegant, with a touch of intimacy both of which can be sensed from the time visitors enter the main reception entrance.

Tamarind is located on the beachfront of Barbados and has 104 guest rooms, each designed to offer either balcony or patio space. There are seven different kinds of rooms or suites from which to choose. The bright, vibrant colours which are used in the décor of and furnishings for the room add both the Tamarind touch as well as the feel of the Caribbean and contribute to the feeling of refreshment of its guests.

Whether staying at the hotel for business or pleasure, there is certainly more than enough to keep all persons occupied. With two fresh-water swimming pools, a full-service gym area, a business centre as well as hotel boutiques in which to browse (and shop!), these can certainly satisfy the needs of most. Combine that with the option of strolling through the landscaped grounds at leisure or basking in the sunshine on the beach... What else is required to complete a vacation experience in Barbados?
