Barbados Golf Club

The Barbados Golf Club, one of several on the island of Barbados is located in Durants, Christ Church, and is located only 5-10 minutes away from the Grantley Adams International Airport. Over the past 5-10 years, golf has become more popular on the island and many locals and residents on the island have taken it up as a leisure and social pastime.

Opened in 2000, the golf course is large with a distance of 6805 yards, par 72. It consists of an 18-hole course, with rolling hills and wide open fairways. As designed, it accommodates players of all skill levels and can be considered "forgiving"  enough to allow those less experience to hone their skills, without fear of judgment (or at least too much). Areas have been designated for warm-up prior to tackling a real game and this provision would certainly give some measure of relief to those who may classify themselves as novices.

If visiting and not properly equipped, the major implements (clubs, golf shoes, carts and trolleys) are available for hire so there is no need to miss the experience while on the island.

As part of its offer, interested persons can avail of golf lessons. These are only available by appointment and the request can be made online. It would be advisable to submit as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Membership to the Club is available and application can be made online. There are various categories of membership, for example: Family, Junior, Beginners, VIP, with each having its bespoke benefits. It is suggested that enquiries be made based on personal circumstances in order for the best categorization to be allocated. Examples of some of the benefits: 10% discount on bar and restaurant purchases, members only parking, members guest discount. In addition, there are other special packages which can be arranged.

No reason to miss one's little indulgences when visiting the island of Barbados, tee off at the Barbados Golf Club in Christ Church.
