There are almost as many types of vacations available in Barbados as there are personality types. While that may be an exaggeration, on the island of Barbados, one can avail of any type of vacation to suit one's personal taste. If an action-packed vacation is what you are seeking: look no further.

 

Several major marathons are run at various times throughout the year, attracting athletes and runners from all over the world. There are cycling races as well, some of which attract high-profile riders from the US, UK, and Canada, among others.

 

Organised hikes on set routes or personal adventure tours are all possible. Some persons rent scooters or bicycles and create for themselves an exercise and fun-filled island adventure, which would certainly be categorized as active. The beach and beautiful waters around the island also offer options for those persons who are sea-faring.

 

An entire vacation can be spent at the sea-side. Activities such as sailing, jet-skiing, scuba diving, and water-skiing are available at most of the major beaches. The surfers head to the Drill Hall, St. Michael, Silver Sands, Christ Church or Bathsheba, St. Joseph to tackle the real whopper waves and test their skills with flourish.

 

Whether as a participant or a spectator, there are many, many things to do in Barbados if you want an active vacation.
