Waterfront Café

The Waterfront Café, which was opened in 1984 by Sue Walcott, is located in the beautiful island of Barbados, in the heart of Bridgetown beneath the ever popular Bump 'n Wine Café. The Waterfront Café is very popular with  Bajans as well as tourists as you can either sit indoors and bask in the ambience of the café or dine outdoors where you would see many business and historic places that people in Barbados have come to know and love.

 

The restaurant has an à la carte menu, a full bar and lively night entertainment. The Café's menu includes a variety of local and regional foods as well as seafood. Tuesday nights is reserved as Special Caribbean Buffet where à la carte is available. Some of these foods include flying fish, CouCou, salt fish, jerk, pepperpot and breadfruit to name a few. 

 

On the inside of the café, magnificent Caribbean art is seen on the walls. Also oil, water colour, acrylic and prints are on sale. The entertainment is free and features live jazz five (5) times week.

Solo artist-piano - 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

 

Tuesdays
Steel pan music by the group Sudden Impact which was founded by Anderson Ward (one of Barbados' popular entertainers especially in the hotel circuits) - 7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

 

Wednesday
Ebe Gilkes Jazz Trio - 7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

 

Thursdays
VSOP Dixieland - 8.00 p.m. - 11.00 p.m.

 

Fridays
Friday night Latin and Caribbean jazz sounds 8.00 p.m. - 11.00 p.m.

 

Saturdays
Paul Thorne jazz trio - 8.00 p.m. - 11.00 p.m.

 

Waterfront café's delicious menu comprises of Appetizers, Salads, Sandwiches and Sides, Desserts, Cocktails and Wines. The wines range from red, white, sparkling, pinks and champagne wines.

 

Their desserts are to "die" for especially the cheese cakes.
