Krosfyah

The band Krosfyah has changed the face of soca music in Barbados from what we've grown accustomed to. For more than fifteen (15) years the band has toured extensively pumping the world up with hits such as Pump Me Up, Wet Me, Agony, Sak Pasé, French Kiss, Sugar Cane and Pressure to name a few.

The group was formed in 1989 by principal songwriter Edwin Yearwood and is deemed as one of the most successful bands in the Caribbean. Originally known as Crossfire, they gained most of their early exposure on the hotel circuit where they thrilled the hearts of visitors to the island. In 1993, the name of the band was changed to "Krosfyah" which was spelt and pronounced more in keeping with true Bajan dialect.

The success of Krosfyah has grown phenomenally as it has seen lead singer/songwriter Edwin Yearwood transform into being unrivalled in his triple-crown win at the annual Crop Over Festival held in Barbados. This festival is held to pay homage to yet another successful sugar cane harvest on the island. Other members of the band include Anthony "Tony" Bailey, Morris Cassell, Khiomal Nurse, Neil Burnett, Corey Jordan and Rian Clarke.
