Climate

You have made the right choice in Barbados if perfect holiday weather is what you are looking for. With year round  daytime highs of 85˚F or 30˚C and a gentle cooling to 78˚F or 25˚C in the late evening, Barbados offers the perfect weather for whatever your holiday plans entail, be it sporting events, sightseeing and tours, or just getting that perfect tan.

While it is always sunny weather in Barbados, prevailing northeast trade winds blowing steadily across the island generally keep humidity at a tolerable level.

The temperature in the waters surrounding Barbados is generally around 78˚F or 25˚C and there is little if any variation in temperature between  the Atlantic Ocean on the East and Northern side and the Caribbean Sea on the West and South coasts.

In Barbados we have only two seasons, the Dry season between January to June and the Wet season between July to December. During the summer months of the rainy season the rain will usually come in quick heavy showers, rarely lasts all day and does not noticeably affect the temperature. This 'liquid sunshine' is usually a very  refreshing experience and will not interfere with your holiday plans.

With  the Rainy Season also comes  the Hurricane Season and while Barbados is not immune to hurricanes, the last major direct hit by a Hurricane was in 1955. Located at just 13˚degrees north of the Equator  and just outside of the main Caribbean island chain, Barbados is strategically located to be 'missed' by hurricanes coming across the Atlantic. Most Hurricanes pass well North of the island and increase in intensity as they travel over the other islands in the chain.
