Lone Star Restaurant & Hotel
On the west coast of Barbados, there is a property with a charming and humorous name of Lone Star Restaurant & Hotel. So named many years ago by its then owner, who at the time owned and operated the only mechanics garage on that coast, the name and general concept has stood the test of time, despite changing ownership on many occasions. Driving along the coast, the simple design of the restaurant building usually attracts attention as one is not always exactly sure what lies behind the white-painted walls.
Lone Star sits on a ridge just at the water's edge. The property consists of an intimate 5-room boutique hotel, with well-appointed rooms, appropriately named after some of the established car dealers, for example Ford, and the restaurant. Diners enjoy splendid views of the ocean, while enjoying simple, well-presented and flavourful meals. The kitchens are open-plan in design and are led by the restaurant's Executive Chef and his team.
For an idea of what might culinary delights might be savoured at the restaurant, a brief description will be provided of some of the menu offerings. To start, guests can consider trying the Vegetable Spring Rolls with cucumber relish or the Thai Crab Cakes with peppers and lemon grass dip. For the main course, some thought might be given to the Lamb Shank with basil mash and marinated roast pepper and that is but only one delectable item from a selection.
Drinks flow freely at the bar and so you are free to relax there, either before or after dinner.
