Ursuline Convent Pantomine

By the year 1897, the Ursuline Convent had grown to a student roll of ninety (90) after having started a school right here in Barbados with a small amount of just six (6) students. Its' present location at Collymore Rock, on the outskirts of Barbados' capital city Bridgetown, has been its home since 1908. Some fifty-nine (59) years later in 1967, the Ursuline Convent saw the establishment of both its primary and secondary schools.

Affectionately known as the Convent by all of Barbados, the Ursuline Convent has always been well aware of the important role in which the performing arts played in the lives of its students. With this in mind, it came as no surprise in 1989 when the school took on the responsibility of producing what was seen as a major pantomime.

The name of the production at the time was 'Twinkle' and it was a great success thanks to the many little hands that got involved at the time.

Future pantomimes were praised for the valuable contributions they made to the development of these young minds. Allowing an instillment of imagination, assertiveness, dedication and teamwork.
